Clinical applications
• Ophthalmic use in patients with epithelial defects of the cornea or conjunctiva: corneal ulcers, acute chemical burns, large conjunctival resections
• Adjuvant in cornea transplantation and when problems with tissue generation or postoperative healing are expected

Processing consists of separating the amniotic membrane from the chorion. The fragments obtained are frozen in a controlled manner to -80 ºC in a cryoprotectant solution (RPMI + glycerol). This solution contains an antibiotic cocktail (penicillin, streptomycin and amphotericin B).
